Senior Operations Manager - scheduling and capacity (Philadelphia, PA)

Ironwood Forge Freight is looking for a Senior Operations Manager. The job centres on scheduling and capacity for carrier rates, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Philadelphia. What you will do • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Track performance measures for carrier rates and act on them. What we are looking for • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with customer tracking. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Philadelphia, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
