Senior Operations Manager - scheduling and capacity (Grand Rapids, MI)

Westbrook Clear Freight Group is a Grand Rapids logistics company with trucks, warehouses and dispatch, and we need a Senior Operations Manager to lead our scheduling and capacity. You would join a small organisation of about 47 people based in Grand Rapids. What you will do • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Track performance measures for loads and lanes and act on them. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Experience with carrier rates. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Grand Rapids, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
