Senior Operations Manager - safety and compliance (St. Louis, MO)

Amberfield Quill Freight moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of St. Louis, and we need a Senior Operations Manager to lead our safety and compliance. You would join a small organisation of about 154 people based in St. Louis. What you will do • Track performance measures for claims and act on them. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. What we are looking for • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with dock schedules. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in St. Louis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
