Senior Operations Manager - process improvement (Grand Rapids, MI)

Fernwood Vale Manufacturing Group is a Grand Rapids manufacturer supplying regional industrial customers, and we need a Senior Operations Manager to lead our process improvement. You would join a small organisation of about 13 people based in Grand Rapids. What you will do • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Track performance measures for work orders and act on them. • Manage a team of supervisors and coordinators. What we are looking for • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. • Good judgement under pressure. • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. Nice to have • Experience with tooling. • Lean or continuous-improvement training. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Grand Rapids. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
