Senior Operations Manager - process improvement (Atlanta, GA)

Summit Mill Freight moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Atlanta. We are hiring a Senior Operations Manager to take on process improvement. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Manage vendors, contracts and budgets. • Plan daily and weekly work and keep it moving when things change. • Lead safety and compliance routines and follow up on incidents. • Find and fix the small process problems that cost hours every week. • Track performance measures for loads and lanes and act on them. What we are looking for • Four or more years in operations, with some people-management. • Good judgement under pressure. • Comfort with numbers, schedules and reports. Nice to have • Lean or continuous-improvement training. • Experience with customer tracking. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Atlanta. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
