Senior IT Support Specialist - user accounts and access (Birmingham, AL)

Cedar Forge Energy supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses around Birmingham. We are hiring a Senior IT Support Specialist to take on user accounts and access. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. • Set up, repair and retire laptops, phones and printers. • Keep an accurate asset list and patch schedule. • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. What we are looking for • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. Nice to have • Experience with meter readings. • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Birmingham. • We reply to every applicant.
