Senior IT Support Specialist - help desk (Virginia Beach, VA)

Cedar Rook Water Authority supplies drinking water and treats wastewater for Virginia Beach and nearby communities, and we need a Senior IT Support Specialist to lead our help desk. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Virginia Beach. What you will do • Answer support requests by phone, chat and in person and log every ticket. • Set up, repair and retire laptops, phones and printers. • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. What we are looking for • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. Nice to have • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. • Experience with billing accounts. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Virginia Beach, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
