Senior IT Support Specialist - help desk (Grand Rapids, MI)

Fernwood Corner Insurance Group is looking for a Senior IT Support Specialist. The job centres on help desk for underwriting files, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We care about how people feel on the worst day of their year. What you will do • Create and disable user accounts as people join and leave. • Keep an accurate asset list and patch schedule. • Troubleshoot Wi-Fi, VPN and software problems and escalate vendor issues with clear notes. • Write short how-to guides for problems that keep recurring. • Answer support requests by phone, chat and in person and log every ticket. What we are looking for • Working knowledge of Windows, macOS and Microsoft 365. • One to three years of help-desk or desktop-support experience. • A patient way with colleagues who are not technical. Nice to have • Experience with underwriting files. • CompTIA A+ or similar certification. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Grand Rapids, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
