Senior HR Business Partner - onboarding (Des Moines, IA)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Cross Transit Planning and adding a Senior HR Business Partner whose main responsibility will be onboarding. We value plain explanations. What you will do • Investigate concerns fairly and document the outcome. • Keep policies and records current and compliant. • Handle leave, accommodation and benefits questions from start to finish. • Advise supervisors on attendance, performance and workplace concerns. • Support hiring and onboarding for teams that work on ridership counts. What we are looking for • Three or more years in HR. • Knowledge of employment law and leave rules. • Discreet, fair and direct. Nice to have • Experience with ridership counts. • SHRM or HRCI certification. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Des Moines, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
