Senior Financial Analyst - variance reporting (Spokane, WA)

Fernwood Cobalt Insurance is an insurance company in Spokane with claims and service teams, and we need a Senior Financial Analyst to lead our variance reporting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Model the cost of customer complaints and recommend where to save. • Explain monthly variances in plain language for managers. • Support pricing and investment decisions with careful analysis. • Automate recurring reports so they take hours, not days. • Build and update budgets and rolling forecasts with department leads. What we are looking for • Advanced Excel skills; SQL or BI experience helps. • Comfort presenting numbers to people who are not finance specialists. • Two to five years in financial analysis or a similar role. Nice to have • A relevant degree or certification. • Experience with catastrophe response. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Spokane. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
