Senior Financial Analyst - cost modelling (Des Moines, IA)

Fernwood Lantern Insurance is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst. The job centres on cost modelling for claims, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We invest in training for new adjusters. What you will do • Model the cost of claims and recommend where to save. • Build and update budgets and rolling forecasts with department leads. • Explain monthly variances in plain language for managers. • Support pricing and investment decisions with careful analysis. • Prepare board and lender packs with clear charts. What we are looking for • Two to five years in financial analysis or a similar role. • Advanced Excel skills; SQL or BI experience helps. • Comfort presenting numbers to people who are not finance specialists. Nice to have • A relevant degree or certification. • Experience with customer complaints. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Des Moines, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
