Senior Dispatcher - customer updates (Rochester, NY)

We are growing our team at Fernwood West Freight and adding a Senior Dispatcher whose main responsibility will be customer updates. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Assign jobs and routes to drivers and crews. • Track progress and update customers on timing. • Record hours and mileage accurately. • Solve problems on the road such as delays, breakdowns and access issues. • Coordinate with the teams handling dock schedules on changes. What we are looking for • Calm decision-making under pressure. • Experience in dispatch, driving or scheduling. • Clear voice and good local knowledge. Nice to have • Knowledge of dock schedules. • Experience with routing software. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Rochester. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
