Senior Dispatcher - after-hours coverage (remote)

Cedar Sparrow Freight moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of San Jose. We are hiring a Senior Dispatcher to take on after-hours coverage. You would join a small organisation of about 22 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Coordinate with the teams handling carrier rates on changes. • Assign jobs and routes to drivers and crews. • Solve problems on the road such as delays, breakdowns and access issues. • Track progress and update customers on timing. • Record hours and mileage accurately. What we are looking for • Clear voice and good local knowledge. • Calm decision-making under pressure. • Experience in dispatch, driving or scheduling. Nice to have • Knowledge of carrier rates. • Experience with routing software. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in San Jose. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
