Senior Dispatcher - after-hours coverage (Providence, RI)

Redstone Orchard Freight moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of Providence. We are hiring a Senior Dispatcher to take on after-hours coverage. Dispatch, drivers and warehouse staff talk to each other constantly. What you will do • Track progress and update customers on timing. • Solve problems on the road such as delays, breakdowns and access issues. • Assign jobs and routes to drivers and crews. • Coordinate with the teams handling customer tracking on changes. • Record hours and mileage accurately. What we are looking for • Clear voice and good local knowledge. • Experience in dispatch, driving or scheduling. • Calm decision-making under pressure. Nice to have • Knowledge of customer tracking. • Experience with routing software. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Providence. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
