Senior Data Analyst - operations reporting (Pittsburgh, PA)

Fernwood Timber Financial provides savings, lending and payment services from Pittsburgh. We are hiring a Senior Data Analyst to take on operations reporting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Investigate trends in vendor spend and explain what is driving them. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. What we are looking for • Clear writing. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on regulatory reports. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Pittsburgh, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
