Senior Data Analyst - operations reporting (Oakland, CA)

Harborlight Ashton Inspection Services is an inspection company in Oakland with field technicians and lab staff. We are hiring a Senior Data Analyst to take on operations reporting. Independence and accuracy are our product. What you will do • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Investigate trends in equipment calibration and explain what is driving them. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. What we are looking for • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Clear writing. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on test reports. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Oakland, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
