Senior Data Analyst - operations reporting (Jackson, MS)

Bright Umber Environmental Services is an environmental-services company in Jackson with routes, transfer stations and recycling. We are hiring a Senior Data Analyst to take on operations reporting. Early starts and steady work; we look after our drivers. What you will do • Investigate trends in weigh tickets and explain what is driving them. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. What we are looking for • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Clear writing. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on collection routes. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Jackson, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
