Senior Data Analyst - operations reporting (Houston, TX)

Summit River Water Authority supplies drinking water and treats wastewater for Houston and nearby communities. We are hiring a Senior Data Analyst to take on operations reporting. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Houston. What you will do • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Investigate trends in pipe repairs and explain what is driving them. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. What we are looking for • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Clear writing. Nice to have • Experience with data on water quality. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Houston, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
