Senior Data Analyst - operations reporting (Grand Rapids, MI)

Northwind Mill Transit Planning Group is a transit-planning firm in Grand Rapids working with agencies and riders, and we need a Senior Data Analyst to lead our operations reporting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Investigate trends in service alerts and explain what is driving them. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. What we are looking for • Clear writing. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. Nice to have • Experience with data on fare systems. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Grand Rapids. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
