Senior Data Analyst - operations reporting (Detroit, MI)

Redstone Ember Financial serves customers across Detroit with accounts, loans and payments. We are hiring a Senior Data Analyst to take on operations reporting. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Investigate trends in regulatory reports and explain what is driving them. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. What we are looking for • Clear writing. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. Nice to have • Experience with data on vendor spend. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Detroit. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
