Senior Data Analyst - forecasting (San Diego, CA)

Bright Fern Energy supplies electricity and gas to homes and businesses around San Diego. We are hiring a Senior Data Analyst to take on forecasting. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Investigate trends in usage data and explain what is driving them. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. What we are looking for • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Clear writing. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on service connections. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in San Diego. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
