Senior Data Analyst - forecasting (Knoxville, TN)

Fernwood Umber Transit Planning is a transit-planning firm in Knoxville working with agencies and riders, and we need a Senior Data Analyst to lead our forecasting. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Build dashboards that managers actually open every week. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Investigate trends in ridership counts and explain what is driving them. What we are looking for • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Clear writing. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. Nice to have • Python or R for analysis. • Experience with data on fare systems. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Knoxville. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
