Senior Data Analyst - forecasting (Austin, TX)

Northwind Pike Markets is looking for a Senior Data Analyst. The job centres on forecasting for store inventory, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 941 people based in Austin. What you will do • Answer ad-hoc questions with a short written summary, not a data dump. • Document definitions so numbers mean the same thing everywhere. • Pull and clean data from several systems into one trustworthy dataset. • Investigate trends in store inventory and explain what is driving them. • Recommend changes and measure whether they worked. What we are looking for • The habit of checking a surprising number before presenting it. • Strong SQL and spreadsheet skills. • Experience with a BI tool such as Power BI or Tableau. • Clear writing. Nice to have • Experience with data on shrink and waste. • Python or R for analysis. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Austin, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
