Senior Content Writer - plain-language guides (Portland, OR)

Harborlight Meridian Civic Services works with county and city offices around Portland. We are hiring a Senior Content Writer to take on plain-language guides. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Interview staff and customers and turn what you learn into clear articles. • Follow a style guide and suggest improvements to it. • Write and edit guides, emails and web pages about permits. • Work with subject experts to check facts before publishing. • Keep existing content accurate and easy to find. What we are looking for • Strong editing habits. • A portfolio of clear, practical writing. • Curiosity about how things work. Nice to have • Experience with permits. • Basic SEO knowledge. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Portland. • We reply to every applicant.
