Senior Content Writer - plain-language guides (Detroit, MI)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Fern Transit Planning and adding a Senior Content Writer whose main responsibility will be plain-language guides. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Detroit. What you will do • Follow a style guide and suggest improvements to it. • Write and edit guides, emails and web pages about service alerts. • Interview staff and customers and turn what you learn into clear articles. • Keep existing content accurate and easy to find. • Work with subject experts to check facts before publishing. What we are looking for • Curiosity about how things work. • Strong editing habits. • A portfolio of clear, practical writing. Nice to have • Experience with service alerts. • Basic SEO knowledge. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Detroit, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
