Senior Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Tucson, AZ)

Cedar Juniper Transit Planning is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on revenue reconciliation for route schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. We like people who ride the bus and notice when things do not work. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to route schedules, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Tucson. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
