Senior Accountant - revenue reconciliation (remote)

Westbrook Clear Transit Planning is a transit-planning firm in Jackson working with agencies and riders, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. Work is collaborative and map-heavy. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to fare systems, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around service alerts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with fare systems. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Jackson. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
