Senior Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Providence, RI)

Westbrook Ember Housing is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on revenue reconciliation for rent assistance, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 36 people based in Providence. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to rent assistance, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with rent assistance. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
