Senior Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Memphis, TN)

Fernwood Corner Insurance is an insurance company in Memphis with claims and service teams, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. Claims teams work together and share what they learn. What you will do • Track costs around underwriting files against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to catastrophe response, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with catastrophe response. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Memphis. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
