Senior Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Kansas City, MO)

Fernwood Forge Energy is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on revenue reconciliation for service connections, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 318 people based in Kansas City. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around usage data against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with service connections. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Kansas City. • We reply to every applicant.
