Senior Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Hartford, CT)

Highbridge Rook Markets is a Hartford retailer with stores, a distribution centre and online ordering. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. We like people who know our customers by name. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to shrink and waste, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around online orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with shrink and waste. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Hartford. • We reply to every applicant.
