Senior Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Des Moines, IA)

Harborlight North Auto Group operates automotive service and parts businesses around Des Moines, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our revenue reconciliation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Des Moines. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around vehicle inspections against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Des Moines, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
