Senior Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Des Moines, IA)

We are growing our team at Ironwood West Environmental Services and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be revenue reconciliation. Safety briefings happen every morning. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to recycling loads, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around fleet maintenance against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with recycling loads. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in Des Moines, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
