Senior Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Charleston, SC)

Silverline Meadow Water Authority supplies drinking water and treats wastewater for Charleston and nearby communities. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Charleston. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to billing accounts, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around capital projects against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with billing accounts. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Charleston. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
