Senior Accountant - revenue reconciliation (Austin, TX)

Summit Fern Environmental Services is an environmental-services company in Austin with routes, transfer stations and recycling. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on revenue reconciliation. Early starts and steady work; we look after our drivers. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to landfill records, and clear open items. • Track costs around collection routes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Austin, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
