Senior Accountant - month-end close (Wichita, KS)

Cedar Bridge Farms Group is an agricultural business based around Wichita. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a large organisation of about 283 people based in Wichita. What you will do • Track costs around cold storage against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to packing house output, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with packing house output. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Wichita, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
