Senior Accountant - month-end close (Wichita, KS)

Cedar Stone Telecom Group builds and runs fibre and wireless networks in the Wichita area, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Wichita. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around outage reports against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
