Senior Accountant - month-end close (Virginia Beach, VA)

Greenridge Umber Facilities is a facilities company in Virginia Beach with crews on day and night shifts, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. Clear communication between supervisors and crews matters. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer sites, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with customer sites. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Virginia Beach. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
