Senior Accountant - month-end close (Tucson, AZ)

Bluepeak Rook Housing Group provides affordable homes and support services around Tucson. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. Housing is our mission and residents are our neighbours. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to resident services, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with resident services. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Tucson. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
