Senior Accountant - month-end close (Tucson, AZ)

We are growing our team at Silverline Mill Energy and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. We work closely with regulators and communities. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meter readings, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with meter readings. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Tucson, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
