Senior Accountant - month-end close (Tucson, AZ)

Amberfield Maple Early Learning operates neighbourhood childcare around Tucson. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. Low staff turnover is a goal we take seriously. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to meal programmes, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around classroom supplies against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with meal programmes.
