Senior Accountant - month-end close (Tucson, AZ)

We are growing our team at Harborlight Ridge Insurance Group and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Tucson. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to underwriting files, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Tucson, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
