Senior Accountant - month-end close (St. Louis, MO)

We are growing our team at Fernwood Mill Care Services Group and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around licensing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to care plans, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in St. Louis. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
