Senior Accountant - month-end close (Spokane, WA)

Lumen Thistle Early Learning is an early-learning provider in Spokane, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 151 people based in Spokane. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to licensing records, and clear open items. • Track costs around tuition and subsidies against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with licensing records. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Spokane, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We reply to every applicant.
