Senior Accountant - month-end close (Seattle, WA)

Summit Haven Learning Group is looking for a Senior Accountant. The job centres on month-end close for student accounts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Collaboration between teachers and staff is strong. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around enrolment against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with student accounts. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Seattle. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
