Senior Accountant - month-end close (Savannah, GA)

Northwind Juniper Banking Services is a community-focused bank in Savannah serving households and small businesses, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. We keep decisions close to customers and expect people to explain things plainly. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with card disputes. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Savannah. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
