Senior Accountant - month-end close (Savannah, GA)

Nova Ember Press Group produces print and digital publications in Savannah, and we need a Senior Accountant to lead our month-end close. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Savannah. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to proofing, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with proofing. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Savannah, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
