Senior Accountant - month-end close (Savannah, GA)

Greenridge Rook Markets operates grocery and general-merchandise stores around Savannah. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 62 people based in Savannah. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to supplier deliveries, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with supplier deliveries. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in Savannah. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
