Senior Accountant - month-end close (San Antonio, TX)

Rivermark Quill Transit Planning plans bus and rail service for cities around San Antonio. We are hiring a Senior Accountant to take on month-end close. You would join a small organisation of about 141 people based in San Antonio. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around route schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with ridership counts. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in San Antonio. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
