Senior Accountant - month-end close (San Antonio, TX)

We are growing our team at Lumen Fern Care Services and adding a Senior Accountant whose main responsibility will be month-end close. We train and promote from within. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around caregiver training against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with visit scheduling. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in San Antonio, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
